Area Redneck Takes on 700 of the World’s Leading Climate Scientists in Global Warming Debate

An area resident disagrees that the world is spiraling towards catastrophic climate change, despite consistent warnings from the scientific community.  When asked why he disagreed with scientists’ leading arguments for global climate change, including the annual increase in CO2 levels directly correlated to human activities, an unequivical warming trend of about 1.0 to 1.7 degrees over the last century, and the link between CO2 “greenhouse” gasses and the warming of the planet, Clarence replied, “Them data don’t sync with my findings.”

“These climate alarmists,” Clarence notes, “want us to believe that the earth is getting warmer.  See, this past winter we Georgians were hit with a major snow storm.  Now you tell me, does that sound warm to you?”

Rather than simply ignoring scientists claims, Clarence has instead chosen to tackle the carbon myth head on.  By regularly performing activities that discharge carbon into the environment, Clarence has, in his words, taken strides to prove the righteousness of his beliefs over scientists.  He discloses how during one experiment he set his residence thermostat at 80 degrees while keeping the  AC on its coolest setting.  In that experiment he did not personally witness any change in climate or weather patterns for the entire period of time prior to his circuit breakers firing.  In a later experiment, Clarence left his ’89 GMC Jimmy running overnight in the garage while tracking hourly regional temperatures via weather.com.

“That was a good one,” says Clarence referring to what he terms the ‘Garage files’, “What I saw was the temperature went down each hour instead of up.   If anything, that means the car’s CO2 was cooling the atmosphere.  The car quit around 4 AM, but I had gotten all the data that I needed to solidify my argument.”

The ‘Garage Files’ has been submitted to multiple prestigious scientific journals, such as Nature and Science, and is currently awaiting the peer review process.  But Clarence is not waiting for publication in order to get the word out.  Shaking a piece of paper that clearly shows a line tracing a drop in temperature over the course of one night, Clarence places his arm over an idling lawn mower.  A lawnmower that, he claims, has been idling since dawn.
